Embassy of Israel presents Film Screening of Son of Saul and Exhibition in commemoration of Holocaust victims

The Embassy of Israel and the Embassy of Hungary opened the exhibit titled 鈥淏eyond Duty: Diplomats Recognized as Righteous Among the Nations鈥 and the Film Screening of Son of Saul last April 10, 2018 at the Buenaventura G. Paredes O.P. Building.

His Excellency Effie Ben Matityau, Ambassador of Israel to the Philippines said the unique story of the Holocaust was not just about killing but the motivation and ideology behind the catastrophe. 鈥淏e different and be killed,鈥 Matityau said. 鈥淸All those who were killed]were not just Jews but their citizens. There is the betrayal of the state that is going against its citizen.鈥

Oscar-recipient film Son of Saul was set during the World War II where a Jewish worker named Saul Ausl盲nder at the Auschwitz concentration camp in search of a rabbi for his child鈥檚 proper burial.
