Assoc. Prof. Camilla D.J. Vizconde, PhD, Chair of the Department of English under the Faculty of Arts and Letters, presented her paper entitled 鈥淧re-service teachers鈥� digital access and reading comprehension of typography and hypertext鈥� in the recently concluded 19TH聽European Conference on Literacy, held from July 13-16, 2015, at Alpen-Adria-Universitat Klagenfurt, Austria.
The conference, with the title 鈥淟iteracy in the New Landscape of Communication: Research, Education and the Everyday,鈥� tackled how the teaching and formation of literacy has evolved and how teachers must likewise adjust in order to meet the demands of changing times.Vizconde鈥檚 paper presented an Asian perspective, particularly those of pre-service teachers. She joined two professors from other universities in representing the Philippines in the said conference.
